National Sanctuary of the Most Pure Virgin of Macas

The National Sanctuary of the Virgin of Macas, declared as such in 1993, is the main cathedral of the city and an important point of religious tourism. Inside, there is a 6-meter-high image of white Christ and stained glass windows made in Cali, Colombia, which tell the story of Macas and the Virgin, as well as the events linked to her miracle.

Every year, thousands of devotees participate in celebrations and pilgrimages linked to the Purísima Virgin of Macas, especially on February 18, August 5 and November 20, dates associated with the miracle and the local devotion.
